If anything, then go back to the BT menu and select Delete BT Devices… and delete anything that's on the system. Then re-synced my phone and still nothing. My problem is the black screen. But my car is a 2011…I think the warranty has expired.
Just a few turns of the nut should loosen the cable clamp. Use a wrench to loosen the battery cable clamp on the negative pole of the battery (I call it the black side). At least for now (let's see if this holds over time), I no longer receive the random reboots, freezes, and other strange behavior. Sync Says No Phone The phone functions are not recognized.

I have to agree. My Ford Sync Stopped Working Once this is done, go to the Entertainment screen, scroll down to Bluetooth Devices, tap the button on the screen and designate your phone as a music source. I noticed immediately any time that I try to play my music from my phone or listen to iheartradio and Pandora, from my phone, the music skips or pauses a lot. altho using my phone for music connected via usb the system gets confused and won't respond for a minute or two then catch up and finally start working right.. When your phone "recognizes" Sync, the it will show Sync Not Connected in your list of trusted devices. I'm using OS 8.1.3 with my 2010 Escape without issue… but you're right.
