F8 Boot Menu Not Working


From now on, you should be able to enter into Windows 8 Advanced Boot Options menu by pressing the F8 key. Many times you are not able to get the screen where you select Safe Mode option. I even tried altering my registry as suggested by another forum member, but it didnt work either. Obviously I can't enter safe mode because of undoing updates and f8 doesn't work. At the very least you can run chkdsk /f on the partition to see if there is any repairable file corruption. The f8 key does work it just brings up the boot menu not the startup menu (boot from floppy, ide etc.).

I assume you don't have an Administrator account on your system (not the same as an Admin permissions confusingly) which may well allow you direct access.
